Mentoring Connections

Mentoring Connections provides mentoring services to children who have an incarcerated parent. There are over 1,600 Dane County children who have a parent in prison. To sign up a child or get a Volunteer Mentor Application contact Mrs. Fabu Carter Brisco, (608) 256-0906, or email Fabu for an application or to find out more about the program.

Beyond Dialogue: How to Work Meaningfully Beyond the Boundaries of Faith

The speaker is Nancy Kirk from the Tri Faith Initiative of Omaha, Nebraska.

The Tri Faith Initiatives is a collaboration between:

In a bold move they have purchased land and are building an inter faith campus to

promote a better understanding of their various faiths and to work for peace.

 Fee for the program is $20 per person and includes a vegetarian meal.  This event celebrates MUM's Annual Meeting.  The meal
 will be from 6:00 to 6:30, the Annual Meeting from 6:30 and our presenter will begin at 6:45.  For more information or to

Mentoring Connections Quarterly Event

Juneteenth Celebration

June 18th, 5:30 to 7:30 PM

Vilas Park Shelter

Learn about this celebration and why it is an important part of our hisotry.  
Play traditional games--sack races, three legged races,
and horseshoes.  Hear the story of "Sweet Clara and the Freedom Quilt" and 
make your own quilt poster.  
  
Write poetry with Fabu.

Supper includes: hot dogs on the grill, cheese sticks, chips, carrot sticks, fruit, and cookies.
